Head of Mathematics Department
Mono Robert is a Mathematics tutor who has worked with Yei Teacher training college since 2009. He holds a masters degree in Policy, Planning and Management of Kyambogo University and a Bachelor of Science with Education degree of Makerere University. Mr. Mono has a special love for the teaching job. This is evidenced by his entry into the calling as early as 2005 volunteering to teach, even before enrolling for formal training in the profession. He has a special passion for the teaching of mathematics as a subject and derives satisfaction in the values and skills such as logical thinking, persistence, analytic and synthetic thinking, and patience which mathematics develops in individual.
Mr. Mono is an academician and he spends most of his time reading and contributing ideas to academic fora. He has been involved in writing a number of conference papers and articles with different academicians. He embraces the spirit of team-work and it because of this that he has been able to work with YTTC for such a long period of time. He recognizes individual contributions to organizational goals and beliefs that every member of his group has a very important contribution to the group objectives.
Besides his professional responsibilities, Mr. Mono is a father who always derives pleasure in attending to his parenting responsibilities. He does this by organizing family mentoring sessions in different aspects of life for his dependants.
My name is Were Patrick Taban. I am a teacher by profession. I have taught in Junior Secondary/Intermediate and Primary schools before becoming a teacher in Primary Teacher Training Institutions. I was also an Education Supervisor with Jesuit Refugee Service.
I first joined YTTC 2016 as a part time tutor for National Languages. But I am also qualified to teach English Language and Social Studies. I also teach PES the Generic Methods component it.
College Mechanic / Driver.
Taban James is the College Mechanic / Driver. He was recruited to this position in 2014 and is still diligently serving in this position. James has a passion in machines. He handles machines with a lot of care attaching value to them and mindful of the effect of poor handling.
His roles include but not limited to; servicing and maintaining the College automobiles. He keeps an updated log books for all the vehicles and motor bikes. He supervises the other College Drivers. He is dedicated to his work.
James is a professional Mechanic / Driver. He got his training on job. He was trained by Action Africa in 2002 and holds a Certificate in Motor Vehicle Engineering.
Before taking his current duties in YTTC, Mr. Taban worked for many other organizations. He worked for Action Aid (2002 – 2010), ABS – ICCO Company from 2010 to 2011 then joined Danish Refugees Council (DRC) for one year and served ACROSS from 2012 to 2013 and then African Humanitarian Action (AHA) in 2013 before joining YTTC in 2014.
College Store Keeper.
Juma is the College Storekeeper. He is organized in his work. He is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, distributing, and inventory of supplies, materials and equipment and assists in receipt of goods by unloading, moving and counting packages, sacs and other containers or items.
Juma started work in YTTC in 2007 to date. He worked in many organizations before joining YTTC. Juma worked for Oxfam International while in exile in the then Zaire. When he relocated to Uganda, he worked as a store keeper for MSF and DED in Imvepi Refugee Camp in the West Nile district of Arua.
Juma is a hard working, organized and a good steward. He is principled in executing his duties.
